Holistic therapy for pregnancy and women’s mental health

We’re here to help, not to tell you how to do it

A safe space to create your unique motherhood map

All counselling services at Growing Parents are adapted to the personal needs of everyone who attends our sessions.

Our approach is kind, encouraging and collaborative, allowing you to identify the changes you want to make and at a pace that feels best for you. We’ll support you all the way, with gentle redirection back to yourself as you reach your personal idea of progress.

How we can work together

Before you attend your first session, we’ll ask you to answer a few questions on our initial consultation form.

Our sessions are mostly conducted in person here at the clinic, and we offer consults via video call for people outside the Perth metro area and in regional Western Australia too.

Please note we are unable to provide the specialist support needed for people who are currently experiencing an episode of severe mental illness which may include psychosis, have drug or alcohol dependence, have a current case with Department of Child Protection or are seeking legal support for a Family Law Court matter.

Rebates for Medicare and private health insurance

Rebates are available through Medicare and we’re able to process your rebate via Smart Health Hub when you visit. If you have BUPA or Teacher’s Health Insurance you may be eligible for a rebate (but not if you are using a Medicare rebate).

On the odd instance we can’t process them (sometimes the systems are unavailable, which isn’t within our control), we’ll give you everything you need to make your claim online. You’ll need to contact your insurance provider for information on how much your rebate per session will be.

You might be eligible for Medicare’s Mental Health Care Plan, which allows you to claim up to 10 sessions per year and requires a referral from your GP. After six of those sessions you’ll need another referral to complete the remaining four.

Any further information relating to Medicare rebates you’ll find here.
